About Mrs. Kriefall

Hello! My name is Sara Kriefall. This is my first year teaching at SHAS. I am so excited to be teaching Kindergarten. My husband, Daniel, and I , were married  June 24, 2017. Danny is an accountant here in Staples, so when this position opened at SHAS, it was very exciting for both of us! Before I moved to Staples, I was a preschool teacher in Crookston, MN, and taught fifth and sixth grade in Browerville last school year.

I grew up on a farm near Ada, MN with my six siblings. I am the third oldest in the family. After graduating High School I studied Elementary Education, with a minor in Early Childhood education at the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks, ND. While in college I became very involved in the life of our Newman Center ( the Catholic Church on campus), and lived in a Women’s house that was affiliated with the center. It was through these experiences that my Catholic faith depend, and I was really able to experience the beauty of living a life for Christ. During my time in College is when I met Danny as well, through mutual friends at the Newman Center. When it came time to student teach, I chose to take an adventure. I “moved” to Bray, Ireland, for three months in 2015. There I was placed in an all boys school, teaching first grade. The class consisted of thirty seven and eight year old little guys, and I loved it! During the weekends a few friends and I , that were from the United States, would travel to different cities, and have a weekend adventure. my favorite was riding a bike around a small island off the west coast of Ireland called Inis More ( pronounced Inesh More.) It is an adventure that I will never forget, and am so grateful that I got to take.

Going to Ireland helped solidify my teaching philosphy. God created all of us uniquely, and we all learn in different ways. Kindergarten is a great reminder of this as each student has there own strengths, but each desire to learn. They are hungry to find out more about this beautiful earth God created, and I am so happy I get to help them along there journey.

God Bless,
Sara Kriefall
