About 2nd Grade
Hello! I’m so excited to be teaching at Sacred Heart School this year! I graduated from Bemidji State University in the spring of 2003 with a degree in Elementary Education with emphasis in Communication Arts and Literature. My husband, Tom; my two boys, (15) and (8); and I moved to Nevis, Minnesota in June of 2003. I have been a substitute teacher in several districts and was the School Readiness teacher in Nevis part-time for four years. My family and I are active members at Our Lady of the Pines Catholic Church in Nevis.
Hello everyone!!
Second grade has been so busy! The kids have been reading for the Marathon and working on their reading skills. Second grade is such a busy year with preparing for the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Communion. We are still working on solidifying the dates for these two events. In October we will be starting a pen pal program with a Second grade class at Mesabi East Elementary School in Aurora, Minnesota.
The children will be starting a Writer’s Workshop where they will learn the writing process and will be able to write their own stories/books to share at an Author’s Tea come spring. Thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Erholtz for allowing us to have Mr. Worthington back in the Second grade classroom this year! He is a wonderful addition to our Second grade family!
